My Turtles Turning on 10-year-old

My Timon and Pumbaa are turning on 10 years old!!!

See how big they are!!!

About 30+cm in length and 15cm in height/thick!!!

After a long departed time, she recognised me almost immediately when I stepped into the room!!!

So touching!!!

I always believe that there is something connecting me and the turtles!!!

It’s the girl turtle Timon above!!!
Her clear eyes can tell she is quite healthy!!! She sheds annually and lays eggs every summer!!!

Fingers crossed for their healthy, happy, and long life!!!

Happy 2022

My turtles are entering into the year of 2022!!!

Such a long time haven't recording my two lovely turtles, Timon and Pumbaa.

On the very beginning days of 2022, they are here again, in their new dwelling.

During the past year, they follow their routine--shrimps biting, sun-bathing~~~and they are bigger and thicker.

And Timon had laid eggs again last summer. But she bit her eggs as if intaking shrimps~~~

See, Timon and Pumps are holding their claws, claw in claw~~~so sweet~~~

New Round Of Shrimp-biting 2021

New round of shrimp-biting and shell-expending and, hopefully, egg-laying season for my turtles!!!

Fingers are crossed for their growth in the new environment which is limited and no flora and fauna so far……

And with more eggs from my Timon!!!

First Bunch of Eggs This Year

First Bunch of Eggs This Year

Great big news: My super cute female turtle Timon has laid her first bunch of eggs this year, which surprised me a lot for it's at such early stage of her biting season!!!
And what's unusual is these eggs have yolk!!!

And maybe more eggs will be followed~~~

New Season Of Biting Shrimps 2020

My two super cute turtles have got into their new round of shrimp-biting season!!!

They at sooo big now!!! About 25+cm in diameter!!!
Look, what a couple of them!!!
The lighter colour one on the left is the cunning female Timon, and the darker one on the right is the male one Pumbaa!!!

A solo shot for Pumbaa.

Here is the Timon.

See, Timon' s cheeky eye!!!
She is still prefer my hand-feeding!!!
More eggs are expected from her this summer!!! Fingers crossed!!!

Bon appetit for both of them!!!

Turtles At Large

Another shrimp-biting season for my two lovely turtles, Timon and Pumbaa.

Pumbaa has been very active these days. After meals, he will strap out his dining pool and stroll all over around as if he is claiming every inch as his territory.

Well, as for Timon, she is much sedentary!!! It's said that female ones would be very agitated and active to seek the ideal spot for nestling eggs. Disappointedly, it seems my not-little-any-more Timon shows no signs for laying eggs!!!

New Round Of Turtle Activities

My two not-little-any-more turtles, Timon amd Pumbaa, are greeting the April spring!!!

To my surprise, I find they migt even grow in size during hibernation period when I am watching them taking little bites of shrimps today!!!

It's obvious that they have yet to recover their appetite after several months slumber!!!

As the habitual thing, Timon is still fond of my handfeeding!!!

Energy Charging Under The Sun

Such a long time period between the last post on my two lovely turtles, Timor and Pumbaa!!!

With the purpose of egg-laying from Timon, I decided to let them be in the environment easy access to some natural green and flowers and the sunlight, which, I think, is good for Timon, especially, to lay some eggs!!!

They are so big now. And Timon is at the right size(almost 20cm+ in diametre) and age to lay/produce eggs!!!

BUT!!! The disappointed me again!!!
Still no egg this year!!!

Well, as it has been turning into autumn season, the gradually chilling weather shut down their appetite.

See, thay are soaking in warm sunlight charging the energy bar full and getting prepared for the coming winter slumber!!!

A Little Escape

Timon's Little Escape

This morning, as my regular routine to check Timon and Pumbaa, I found, in the bathtub, there is one missing turtle!!! It's the wicked Timon!!! She got the prison-break which, I'm not sure, was whether the result of totally work on her own or by the assistant of her male partner!!!

Searching around, it's not difficult to speculate she was hiding behind the cushion at the corner!!! It seems Timon want somewhere cool.(The weather is unduly hot these days!!!)

See, with the mood of hid-and-seek, she was tilting her head out to check whether I found her or not!!!

And soon after the got-you moment, Timon came out!!!

Well, though Pumbaa is out of the picture in this post, he, and Timon, enjoyed a feast of shrimp this morning!!!

New Biting Season

New Season Biting

After having been lingering in their dreams for almost half a year, Timor and Pumbaa finally step out of their den (actually an abandoned cushion) and take their first sip of water and start to bite their favourite staple--shrimps!!!

This is the Timon. She still favour handfeeding!!!

This is Pumbaa. He takes in more than his female partner does today!!!

As their size is no longer tiny which can be described as cutie, they have to get in the bathtub and have meals one by one!!!

The same wish as I made last year: May my Timon lay some eggs this year!!! Fingers crossed!!!

The Death Of A Fly

Here comes a detective story in which my two "nasty" turtles play the major role!!!

It was a sunny early spring day! Sunshines, breeze~~~

The window affiliated to the room my turtles are in was open for a while during the daytime so that they can sniff and breath the warm spring air.

A fly just found something that seems very pleasant to his taste and he filed in!!!

Having snooped all over the room, he found nothing else but two turtles soaking in a sort of pool full of their pools and pee and shrimp leftover!!!

Maybe the detective thing drained his energy, the fly decided to take a break in this room that smelled "fragrance"  to him!!!

When he woke up, the fly found the window was closed and himself stucked in this cubic!

And the fly just intoxicated as the smell went dense!!! And, finally, he never wakes up again!!!

So!!! This is the story or anecdote about how a fly was killed by the reek of the mixture of shrimp leftover and turtles poo and pee!!!!!!

I'm deeply convinced that it's the reek/smell produced, directly and indirectly, by my two turtles committed the murder!!!

The End

(See my Timon in the picture above: she is checking whether there is any food popping in that corner with her eyes tilted upward!!!

She prefers handfeeding from me! And every bite she takes is very gentle and careful so as to avoid hurting my fingers!!!

As the more playful one she is, Timon will, when she is 80% full, drop what is in her mouth and comes to try to rob what I'm feeding Pumbaa!!! When she gets the target over Pumbaa, she just chews for one or two bites and drops it!!! This is how the leftover comes from!!!

Anyway, they are sooooo cute!!!)

Ready, Seemingly, For The New Season Of Shrimps

As the temperature climbs higher and higher day by day recently, my Timon and Pumbaa have waken from their months-long hibernation!!!

They start to roam around their territory and check if there is any food resource that could intrigues their appetite!!!

Well, actually, they just intake some water to moisture their inner organs and they indeed output some dirty things!!!

So, they are ready for a new season of shrimps, water, courting, and, maybe, I hope there will be eggs!!!

My Timon is at the roughly right size for laying eggs, I think!!!

Fingers crossed!!!

Check Pumbaa's butt!!!

Check Timon's butt!!!

Timon And Pumbaa Are Wishing You A Happy New Year

It's the year of 2017 now!!!

On this very first day of the year 2017, my two super cute turtles, Timon and Pumbaa, are here wishing you a Happy New Year!!!

See, they get their new outlook today--a lovely knitten wool hat which is too big for their heads yet too small for their backs!!!

Anyway, they wear it in style, don't they!!!

See, Pumbaa is so goodlooking in this little thing!!!

Check out how is Timon wearing it!!! Sooo adorable!!!

My Lovely Turtles Are Ready For Their Annual Winter Sleep

My lovely Chubby Turtles

My Timon and Pumbaa follow their rutine of life as usual!!!

They eat! Most of the time their food is the shrimps, and sometimes they get minced meat as a special treat!!!
Oh, when they are hungary, they fight for food!!! Timon will hold the shimp in her mouth the moment she gets it and peddle very swiftly as if her kind does this too to bring the food to a safe place to eat in the wild!!! The instinct founctions!!! It's in their DNA!!!

They sunbath! When the sunshine is not so scorching, they are quite enjoying it by their signature pose--the stretching back legs, or the "Plank" in Yoga language!!!

They  crawl/walk! Sometimes, after full meal and a little dose of napping, they just prisonbreak from their basin and crawl around exploring the surroundings by sniffing!!!

This is Timon who has grown into almost the same size as her male parter, Pumbaa!!!

This Pumbaa who has the darker colour than Timon does!!! And he always bite Timon's limbs when he is hungary or has the intention to rob food from Timon's mouth when driven by the instinct!!!

At this time of the year, they have already stopped eating and ready for their winter sleep or hibernation period!!!
And they have chubby limbs after a stuffed summer shimp-intake!!!
