Little Decoration

Well, since my two little turtles want to have their last suck in the water and sunshine, I'd like to take it as the chance to decorate their little den!!! I got them a roof over their heads, and a blanket--Timon takes it as a mat, Pumbaa thinks its a blanket!!!

Maybe it's true that they are not in the mood of resting, because Timon did behave like she wants more movements!!!
Yesterday, I checked their "dent" as I know they are little unsettled. What I found was: Timon, with her running eyes, was looking around and wondering whether this is her dent for a whole winter!!! When she noticed my peering, out of her instinct, she swiftly got some shelter from that piece of cloth I covered over them to keep them enough humidity!!!
Funny, isn't it???

Unsettling Turtles

When the temperature climbs a little bit higher, my two little turtles just think they should have more water and sunshine to restore for the coming winter!!!

This is Timon!!! See how big the shell she has grown into!!! She used to sit in my palm going Yoga!!! But now, my palm can't have any space for her limbs!!!

I thought they were in their hibernation and would not make any movement and sound!!! But it seems that they are unsettling turtles who move a lot in their dreams!!! When they want to poo or drink, they just produce some sound to let you know!!!

See, finally they get in sand and leaves!!! I cover a piece of wet cloth over them to make sure that they have constantly misty air to breath!!!

My Failure To Get Them Close To Their Natural Habitat

Supposed they would like the sand I prepared for their coming hibernation period, I filled the container with clean wet sand just as the same as what is recommended online. But, my Timon and Pumbaa don't like it!!!

I dragged them out of their niche and let them enjoy the last warm water and sunshine. Then, I put them on the sand I prepared for them. It's not strange to me that they felt little strange to this (maybe they have ever seen sand since their birth, let alone set their paws on it!!!)
So, I put some sand on their shells, thus making them get familiar to it. But they still wanted to get rid of it and crawl out!!!
My next step was closet them in the sand container to see if them could get used to it. Well, they got quiet with their eyes open wild discerning the world outside the box.
Till down, I didn't bother them a little. When I got to them to see if they were used to sand, I decided I should let them out and set them where they favour the most. Standing on her two back limbs, Timon tilted her head against the little bars on the lid of the container as if complaining:"I don't like sand!!! It gets me dirty!!! I can't sleep in it!!!"
And Pumbaa, the one that spends the most of time sleeping, also had no sign of sleepy eyes!!!
Ok. I have to say: my turtles are much more used to human environment now!!!

This is when they were just put on sand

This is Timon who was trying her utmost to get out of it!!!

Aerobatic Turtles

As their winter sleep get closer and closer, my turtles decide to show their tricks on a plastic bottle--They can do aerobatic tricks!!! just like the photos captured below:
This is Pumbaa

Oh, this is Timon!!! And she has a video to share here:
